Topic: Trade Update

Well the first wave of trades have come and gone and here is a quick look at the top 3 who moved and who came out winners. This is in no particular order.

Jason Bay: In what would see Pittsburgh going through a rebuilding stage, they dealt Jason Bay to the Boston Red Sox. Obviously this trade benefits the Sox as they get some defense, but it leaves the question, will they have enough offense to hold off the Yankees for what would be the wild card spot? That providing that Tampa Bay holds onto first in the AL East.

Manny Ramirez: The Red Sox were so desperate to rid themselves of Ramirez they made all kinds of inclusions for the Dodgers, leaving both teams feel like they won; the Sox ridding themselves of cancer and the Dodgers getting a slugger which should propel them into 1st place in the NL West.

Ken Griffey Jr.: Finally Jr. gets his shot at the playoffs and a chance to go the the world series after 8.5 seasons with the Cincinnati Reds thanks to be traded to the Chicago White Sox. Currently in 1st place in the AL Central, Griffey should help them hold off the Twins and the Tigers who have surprised me and a lot of people with their lack of power.
